Hi Jason…I’ve been waiting around for this particular review! Christmas Blend is typically one of my favorite coffees from Starbucks, as I like dark roast coffee…like Sumatra as you mentioned in the video. I do use cream to downplay the ash a bit, and then the coffee is usually delicious and good to go. I wish my local Starbucks sold it ground….I don’t have grinder at the dorm for whole bean. French pressing almost makes up for it!

QOTD: As a poor college student, I can’t do much Christmas shopping. I typically bake my friends/family pie or something like that. They love it. :)

Nice tasting Jason. I definitely would have to agree with you on the over roasted flavor, which I don’t like at all either. When I tasted this coffee I was definitely getting some earthiness in the aroma. You do a lot of Starbucks tastings. Just curious, but did you ever work there or do you just pick up coffee from there because it’s convenient?

How unfortunate that Starbucks overroasted yet another coffee blend. About the only thing I like roasted dark is a good Colombian Supremo, but even then I don’t like it that dark.

qotd? I have done a little Christmas shopping (online) but the only thing I have really done to prepare for Christmas is to get out the old Christmas music, and I bought some new Christmas music this year to increase the Christmas music library. Merry Christmas!

As far as holiday drinks at Starbucks, it looks like I’m going to stick to the peppermint mocha. It’s my weakness, plus I like coffees that aren’t super dark roasted.

QOTD: Did some shopping last weekend and probably going to setup the tree one of the nights this week. Just need some more time in the day. No snow blower here, might have to buy a new pair of swim shorts soon though.

@Shadowtale

Starbucks will always grind whole bean coffee on request. If you buy a bag of whole bean coffee they will usually ask if you need it ground. Also, it’ll be much more fresh this way rather than buying pre-ground coffee. ;-)

You’ve only had this site for a year? Goes to show how much you can accomplish if you’re passionate enough. Never been much of a specialty coffee drinker myself, but your reviews are pretty entertaining. The kids playing the background makes your reviews all the more real and less “corporate”.

Keep it up!

I love Starbuck’s Christmas Blend. I think I’m going to go out to Starbucks today and get some.
