Great job; this is the first episode I’ve watched, love the excitement and enthusiasm. I’ve made it through the winter so far w/o getting sick and it’s been great. My 17 month old son has not been as lucky and my wife is 12 weeks pregnant, so she’s been sick ALL winter! Thanks Jason!

qotd — I didn’t get sick this winter! I’ve been taking Vitamin C and D everyday and it seems to have helped.
I have tried rocketfuel’s jamaican blue mountain, and the original XXX blend… both were excellent. Jason, does the new XXX only contain ethiopian yirgacheffe or is it a blend? Also how dark would you say the roast is?

not a blend, as far as I know. I would say it was just dark not X-dark in my opinion. It was definitely less dark than many French Roasts I have had.

Hi Jason, I thought that was really interesting that you got a mango flavor. I’ve always only gotten more lemon from other Yirgacheffe coffee. So, I really want to try this one now. Hope everyone gets to feeling better soon.
I have been very fortunate and not been sick. Not just all winter, but wasn’t sick any all last year either. The winter’s here can feel like snow for a week, spring one day, then cold again. Must be the coffee helping the immune system. I think it’s also because I don’t have kids to bring home germs, yet.
I have not tried any Rocket Fuel coffee yet. Hope to try the XXX soon.

This sounds like another great coffee. I love complex, “layered” coffees with different flavors presenting themselves throughout the cup and this sounds like it would be fun to try.
qotd? I have had the Jamaica Blue Mountain and the Millionaires Blend from Rocketfuel. I would agree that they are both great coffees. I would also have to agree with the feedback Lisa received because Rocketfuel roasts are typically lighter — which I like because that is where those complex flavors are released. As far as being sick, I came through this winter pretty well healthy this year and that has been a huge blessing.

Hey Jason. Nice review. I enjoy all of your episodes..It’s always great to see other people who are so enthusiastic about coffee. In the overview it says you talk about an upcoming brewer review? Are you doing another review or was that just left behind from a previous episode?
I haven’t tried any Rocketfuel coffees yet, but this episode definitely makes me want to try some out. Especially since African coffees are usually my favorite. I love the bright citrus flavors they bring. Also, I haven’t been sick at all this winter and I’m definitely pretty excited about it.
