Sumatra is one of the best types of coffee period. I’ve never had a bad cup of Sumatra coffee.

I love Sumatran (love that dirt flavor) and I love the idea of free coffee. Yep, send it on over here!

As opposed to Sam (comment above me) I have had Starbucks Sumatra and it wasn’t very impressive, sounds almost like a polar opposite to what this coffee tasted like. I would love to try some!

Thanks for continuing to put up great content while on your vacation Jason.

I’m a huge Sumatra fan. I’ve never had a Sumatran coffee with anything but mild acidity. With the grapefruit and acid description I wonder if they are blending in some other coffees?

  9. That lake reminds me of one of the trips that I took to visit my grandparents back, back in the day in Minnesota.

Did you give that coffee a rating and I missed it?

Thanks for sharing your vacation with us, and what would vacation be without a good cup of coffee? I have never had Sumatra before, but I bought a couple of pounds of beans earlier this week and roasted my first batch today. Should be ready by Sunday, and I am really looking forward to it. Hope it is as pleasing as this one seems to be.

    Keep up the good work.

Man that is pretty! Did your son catch anything?

The coffee sounds interesting. I guess it would make a good breakfast blend with all that fruitiness.

Are you sure you were sampling Sumatran coffee. Your description sounds more like a South American coffee. Perhaps it was a blend — I know that Starbucks’ Sumatra coffee is a blend, and like Mike B, I wasn’t very impressed.

Oops – I forgot my original reason for posting… Your vacation spot is beautiful! I wish all your coffee reviews could have the lake and cabin for the background.
