Roasting Coffee at Benetti’s
Posted on 04. Aug, 2010 by Jason Coffee in Shops
Jason went down to Benetti’s Coffee in Raytown Missouri to watch and to be walked through the roasting process. Micheal McIntyre walked us through the coffee roasting process and gave us some pearls of wisdom along the way.
Question of the Day:
Have you ever seen someone roasting coffee in person? Do you roast coffee? How was the experience?

QOTD Seeing roasting in person was like a dream come true. It was an amazing process to watch. I was impressed with the art and science that it took. Cool video, overall. Makes me want to go visit my favorite coffee roaster right now.

Locally, it’s Buddy Brew Coffee. If you ever come to Tampa, it’s a must visit. For being so hot, Tampa surprisingly has a lot of coffee shops and roasters, so it’s not an easy choice.

This was a great live show and so glad you finally got the roasting part up. It’s more fun to watch roasting in person and enjoy the aroma and atmosphere of the process and geeking out. But was a great video if you’re not able to tour a roaster.
qotd- I got to tour Counter Culture Coffee, the big roaster local to me. This was during my espresso courses from there too. So I learned a lot in a short period of time. I don’t think I have the patience, yet, to roast coffee. It seems very relaxing though.

I have been looking forward to this post for a long time. I really enjoyed watching this live, but I wanted to be able to go back and pay closer attention to what was happening so that I could learn some things for myself.
qotd? I have, in fact, seen someone roast coffee live, and I was that person. I have also had the opportunity to watch Pete at OurCoffeeBarn.com roast live. You can never learn too much nor know too much, so I always enjoy the opportunity to watch others roast – especially those with more experience. I love roasting coffee.
