Hey, Jason! I’ve had a Sylvia-Rocky combo for 8 years now…back before the PID and the fancy curve design cutouts in the catch basin. My Rocky came covered in ground coffee also. Each Rocky grinder is tested with several ounces of coffee just to make sure that everything is working right…and I think they are kind of proud of that fact, which is why they leave the grounds on it! I could not be more pleased with these machines in combo. I draw up to 10 double shots a day and I have pretty much every day for the past 8 years. I never shut down my Sylvia and the heater has never failed. I’ve shopped around for other machines…tried some friend’s machines…but I have never found anything that made me want to trade-in or trade up. For the money, this is, without a doubt, the best grinder-espresso maker combo you’re going to find.
Sweet machine, Jason. I was considering the Silvia but went with a modified Gaggia (equipped with PID and, incidentally, a Silvia V2 wand). When are you going to post a video pulling a shot?!
