Peet’s Coffee Vine Street Grand Re-Opening
Posted on 10. Apr, 2009 by Jason Coffee in News
The overwhelmingly awesome smell of coffee hits you as you walk through the door of the Peet’s Coffee on Vine Street in Berkeley. At 4 pm in the afternoon the store is buzzing with customers. People are enjoying the newly remodeled store which originally opened it’s doors in 1966 on April Fools day.
One of the most notable additions to the store is the Alfred Peet Room in which the founder of Peet’s Coffee is honored and remembered for his contributions to specialty coffee. In the words of Peet’s employee Erica Hess, “As I stood quietly in the room, I couldn’t help but observe customers taking in every detail. Nostalgia filled the air. Memories old and new shared. Longtime friends and generations of families gathered. I thought to myself, “This is our Peet’s family.”
So, here’s to family and remembering where you came from. Cheers!
