Over 100 Facts and Reasons to Drink More Coffee

Posted on 27. Oct, 2009 by in News

mh11uSince I was a kid I have heard that coffee is bad for you. Now as an adult I read article after article that shows all the reason coffee is good for you and the diseases it can help prevent. I wanted to share some of the “best of” coffee articles I have found on this subject containing over 100 reasons to drink more coffee and general fun facts about the brew.

20 Facts about Coffee

This article has some things that caught me of guard like and down right SHOCKED me, like caffeine being approved for babies and helping fight cavities. Both of which I was taught the opposite growing up. This was a good resource with a rounded view of the our all to important morning, noon and night beverage: Coffee! :-)

25 Reasons You Should Drink More Coffee

The title drew me in right of the bat! The people at The Health Nut do a really good job at breaking down why coffee can be such an asset in everyday life. They break down the reasons into 3 main categories:

1) Health and Well Being – Boasting things like coffee being a pain killer, reducing suicide risk and of course boosting your energy.

2) Disease Reduction - Helping ward of diabetes, colon cancer, gallstones, heart disease and the list goes on and on…

3) Environment – Covering things like using coffee as a cleaner, fertilizer, biofuel and more.

9 Reasons to Drink More Coffee

In this article Lucy Dazinger breaks down some basic things coffee can to do improve your everyday life. She explains it in a way that makes it easy to understand and highly applicable to your everyday life. Such as, “Drinking a cup of coffee immediately before taking a 15- to 30-minute catnap can leave you alert and rested after waking up” . This was  short, concise and an easy read.

25 Things You Didn’t Know About Coffee.

Now this one was just a plain out fun read! It lists 25 facts about coffee most of which, before reading the article, I did not know. Such as, “30% of coffee drinkers in US added a sweetener of some kind to their coffee, compared with 57% in UK.” If you want to learn some stuff you probably didn’t know about coffee and have some fun doing it then take a look.

13  Coffee Facts that Might Surprise You

Like the above article this is a list of things you may not have previously know about coffee. I loved how this Coffee Break post allowed me to dig deeper into some core facts about the industry I love so much. I knew a lot of the things already but having them all in one place as a quick reference is really helpful.

10+ Reasons with Coffee Cup News

Those articles are great. I actually came across an interesting blurb in Wired magazine the other day called “What’s Inside a Cup of Coffee?” It stirs up some mixed feelings, I can’t tell if they are tying to shoot coffee down (gasp!)… but I think it is more of an informational thing. Check it out!

    Hey guys,

these are great but bear in mind most tests are done on BLACK COFFEE without sugar, milk, cream, or other fancy bits on top. So if you want to up your coffee intake do it, but black with none please.

The protein in milk usually blocks any health benefits of antioxydants in tea and coffee.
