  1. As far as Caribou, I swear that I’ve had some good coffee from Caribou, however, it’s been a while, about two years ago or so when I still lived in Chicago, so things may have changed.

    QOTD – I liked the comparison. For me, I like to read/watch reviews not just to find out about the coffee, but how it compares to other.

    I liked the comparison–I’d also like to see a comparison for typical ground coffee as well as the K-cups.

    I have to echo Mike and Melissa, I like the comparisons. What I probably enjoy the most is the variety. I like the tastings, I like the pairings (coffee with various foods), and I like the comparisons. Part of the fun is to not know for sure what is going to happen. Like Melissa, I would enjoy comparisons with the press coffee reviews as well.

    My favorite French Roast is from Cafe Du Monde.

    Jason & Wife,

    I’m willing to bet the “berry” you are tasting in the Deidrich is some Tanzanian Peaberry beans thrown into the blend.

    I just got my Keurig B60 and I haven’t tried the Deidrich yet but I’m going to buy a box based on this recommendation.

    Nicely done vid. The comparison work gives beginners like me a foothold when “feeling out” a good cupping sense.

    Thanks again to you & wife

    @Rebecca

    Hi Rebecca,
    I don’t know if you’re native to NOLA but I live right next door and spend loads of time there.

    Cafe du Monde loads their french roast with chicory–an herb that gives the coffee more bitterness. This is something that’s not always likable to the average cupper– sort of an acquired taste and by no means, the standard.

    I think it’s wonderful that you prefer your coffee that way; good, strong cup of that and an order of beignet is a fabulous way to spend a lazy morning on Decatur (I prefer Cafe Beignet across the street, myself), but for the rest of us beginners; trying to discern subtleties of the coffee itself around the chicory can be a pain.

    Happy Cupping!

    Shouldn’t you stir the cup considering the last 10 seconds is clear water? Just what i would do.
