Does anyone blend coffee at home before Roasting or do you blend your coffee after roasting? Any thought on this process?

I have done both, but I think you get a lot more control if you blend post-roast, than if you blend pre-roast because different coffees roast at different rates.

I have, on a couple of occasions, roasted the same coffee to different degrees of roast and then combined them.  It does give you a different profile.  I have also roasted some in my Behmor roaster and some in my Nesco roaster and then combined those.  That too yielded a different flavor profile.

Wow. Two different roasters blend that sounds really interesting. All this is making me want to start doing this at home.

I've been thinking of trying to blend my own coffee as well.  I may have to try next week mixing some roasts up and seeing what I come up with.

@Neil so you find mixing them after roasting is better?

Fresh Coffee ✔ French Press ✔ Filtered Water ✔ Making the freshest coffee that you can make = Priceless

Yes. You have maximum control over each bean's flavor profile when you blend post-roast. This is not typical of commercial roasters. Most roasters will pre-blend the beans and then roast the blend to the same roast level. This does not give you the flexibility to bring out the best in each bean and to then blend those flavor profiles, but it is admittedly easier.
