Hey,

I'm going to post a video of why you should own an aeropress and how to use it:

Also, you can catch this and more on my blog: http://mattreynoldsarchitect.w…..press.com/ (not strictly coffee).

Cheers,

- Matt

The Aeropress is my favorite brew method lately.

@matt you do one thing different than what I'm used to seeing or have tried, so I'll have to try it too. Why do you let the grinds and water sit there so long before stirring? Is it because your making coffee? I usually make concentrated espresso with it.

Thanks for peaking my curiosity to try something a little different.

Now I want to do my review. Except it won't be a video, which is why the review has not been done yet.

Hey,

The original pour is enough to agitate the coffee. Then let it sit for 20 seconds.

Then top up and stir. Then sit for 15-20 more. Then press.

Great video Matt! Love how you walked us through the whole process step by step including the clean up. How often do you use this brew method?

I don't really use it all that much.

I have access to an excellent espresso machine and grinder all day and night, so I usually work on that.

Weekends I'll use the press-pot.

The AeroPresso I normally use if I want a cup quick, or I don't want t big mess to clean up. Also, I use it when I'm going to night classes at University.

In short, probably 1-2 times a week. Smile

@matt that's a good amount of time. So you would say you prefer the french press flavor? What about compared to drip?

Nice post Matt.  Thanks for the video. I really enjoy reading how to use things, but it is so much easier to see.  I have had an Aeropress for a couple of years now, and I love it as well.  I, like you, use it primarily when I am making a single cup or I want that Americano type cup without anything (milk) being added to it.  I usually pour in a few ounces and let it "bloom" like a pour-over, and then add the remaining water in the same manner I do for a pour-over.  It works really well for me.

Thanks Neil! Big bloom = fresh coffee!

@Jason – I prefer the french-press style flavor x10 more than a standard drip. Most commonly I find drip brewers don't reach the right temperature, etc.

The AeroPress has such a good mouth feel, not particles in the bottom of the cup, and its a snap to use. Probably one ,if not my favorite, brewing methods for coffee. Especially for single origins.
