Some of the best coffees I have ever tasted/reviewed have come from your suggestions. Please help me find the next best coffee! Please leave your suggestions with a link/url to where I can find the coffee you are suggesting that I try. Thanks!

Wow – I can't believe no one has taken you up on this yet.

First I must say I am utterly amazed at how many small coffee roasters have cropped up while I was out drinking the gourmet teas. As I mentioned on one of your reviews, I'm the single coffee drinker in my house and I just gave up trying to get that good cup from a drip machine. I also gave up my single serve pad maker to the closet as all I ever bought were the Folger-Maxwell etc. boring grinds before the gourmet coffees snuck in.

Since getting a Keurig I also bought their "My K Cup" and it has been "off to the races" to me. I have run into some really good bagged coffee as well as K-Cup packs.

But the one I think that really hit me was a bag from a roaster in Chicago. I was up visiting my daughter and son-in-law in Downtown Chicago and he made me some coffee the first morning. I had just bought the Keurig about a month before, so I was prepared to go "ho-hum", and smile pleasantly.

No such thing. My son-in-law is pretty much a young gourmet on wines, but has never really talked about coffee other than he likes it. This was one of the best coffees I ever tasted.

Well, this cup just reminded me of some of the best of the top restaurant or hotels I had been and wondered "what the heck the coffee was."

I asked him and he said, "I don't know – something from Papa Nicholas". I went in the kitchen and grabbed the bag. Before I even opened it all the way the aroma just hit me. Wonderful, smooth and clean taste. Stunning aroma both in the unground bean and the cup.

This coffee was from Papa Nicholas and  called their "Family Reserve Kona Baru" I contacted them and told them I liked it even better than the Green Mountain Kona that I thought was great. They told me that it is more than 10% but the actual amount is a trade secret. The "Baru" part is from I believe Panama. The Baru volcano region is evidently very similar to Kona.

My son-in-law gave me the rest of the bag. Since then I have been giving out small samples to friends.

I'm having my eldest daughter from Northwest Indiana "import" me some when she comes in two weeks. The shipping runs high with UPS. The bag is quite reasonable at $9.95 and Jewel stores around Chicago carry it.

I hope you get a chance to review it! I'd very much like to see how you see it against 100% Kona. I'm pretty sure you will like it in any case. I hope it can find it's way to Kansas stores.

Almost forget the link http://www.papanicholas.com/Fa…..Blend.aspx

Hope you enjoy!

Richard

Do you have a Trader Joe's near you?  Have you tried their 100% Kauai Coffee?  I just tried it (and liked it) and I'd be curious to hear your opinion of it.

Richard, this sounds like a really interesting coffee. I am surprised you can buy it in a grocery store if it is really that good. Most grocery store coffees are pretty stale by the time they make it to the consumer. Do you know if they rotate their stock routinely or take other steps to make certain that it is fresh?

I would love to try some as well. We have Jewell in this area and I would love to know there is a good backup to my own home roast so readily available.  If you want to send some you can email me at neilfruitii@yahoo.com

What a neat looking site and what interesting selections it looks like they have. How did you come across this site?

Kauai is a great coffee. I don't indulge in a lot of expensive coffees.  The most expensive green beans I have bought was a pound of Kauai Reserve, and they were awesome.

you can also try the most famous coffee which is made by saeco coffee machines or espresso. i think you have already tried it, if not. then go and try. it is fabulous but the taste can be different only for the beans.

I've been working on a unique coffee blend that you should try. If you like coffee….and the pick me up, you'll love our Innergy Blend. 98% Estate Arabica beans from central and south America – plus three superfoods for a smoother, less acidic brew that's loaded with antioxidants and provides sustained energy and focus – a different buzz than caffeine alone from the Cacao and Matcha Green tea. Of course I'll be glad to send you some. Drink it for 3 days and you'll feel teh difference. It's truly a feel good coffee.
