Hey I am Jason.

I started this blog in November of 2008. I am married with 3 kids and I love my family more than anything. Coffee is my passion and I am constantly looking for the next BEST COFFEE EVER! I look forward to getting to know you all better and learning more about coffee through my interactions with you in this forum. Let me know if you EVER have any questions and I will do my best to answer them.

Take the opportunity to introduce yourself, I would love to get to know you and help you on your journey to find, roast, prepare and make better coffee.

Hi, I'm Jennifer and one of the Moderators for Jason. I live with my wonderful boyfriend and my pets are my kids. I have been a Barista for various independant cafe's over the past seven years. I am a Home Barista for the time being focusing on my coffee blog, Daily Demitasse. I'm always continuing to improve my technique and educate others about the coffee industry. There is so much to learn so I hope to learn from others as well. Looking forward to getting to know everyone and building a coffee community together.

My name is Neil. I have been married to my wonderful wife for 28 years. We have three sons; one of whom is married. We are soon to become grandparents.  I started drinking coffee as a child with my mom and my grandma and I have been enjoying it ever since. My coffee "habit" blossomed while I was in law school when my three pot of coffee a day first developed.  I now drink coffee not because I have to in order to stay awake and alert, but because I enjoy it.  I have been home roasting my own coffee for about two years and, as I said in my bio I am in pursuit of the perfect roast of the perfect bean, to be brewed in the perfect method to produce the perfect cup of coffee.  I guess about the only stage of coffee I am not involved in is its growing and harvesting and who knows, maybe someday.  For now I look forward to participating in this forum and learning from and with each of you.  I welcome your questions and hope we can help one another.

My name is Jamie and I've been drinking coffee since I was 11 or so.  Up until June of '09 it was Folgers coffee.  I've had the pleasure of drinking some great coffee for almost a year now and have had the opportunity to branch out into the world of coffee and learn about it's history, talk to some great people, and roast my own coffee.

I started my own blog this year which has now turned into an official website documenting my coffee roasting attempts, coffee reviews, and anything coffee related.  As I learn about coffee I can document it so other people can learn as well.

I am hoping to learn as much as I can in the world of coffee and contiune to learn throughout the years.  Coffee is my passion and I hope to one day be able to expand my passion and sell my own coffee.

Dan here… I don't recall when I started to enjoy the second most traded commodity in the world but I know that the black gold is good.  I am a very avid home and pro coffee geek.  I love to break down the intricacies of coffee as well as wine.

My name is Kim; you will see me posting under the name Kimba. On U-Stream, my user name is Kimba012. I am a resident of Southern California with my wife and daughter. Coffee has been a daily passion of mine as long as I can remember, in fact at my place of business I offer free coffee all day long to my customers, and have a press on my desk most days. I have owned various coffee making machines, but I prefer a french press as a rule…quality beans steeped to perfection rather than hot water sloshed over a drip basket in an attempt to capture its magic. My preference is medium to dark roasts ground coarse just before brewing. Although I am essentially a purest and drink it black, I do not look down on anyone who prefers cream, sugar, rock candy stirrers, flavored creamers or even a splash of alcohol. As long as it is a quality grown coffee prepared to it's pinnacle, it's all good. I look forward to meeting you in the forum. Cheers!

Name Sean.  SAP recruiter for 'big 5' consulting firms.  Orig from Northern Ontario/Manitoba, I've lived in the Canadian Arctic, Halifax, Osaka, Shizuoka, Tokyo and now Vancouver.  Crazy about coffee – I homeroast for french press, Chemex and vac pot, and support local roasters (and Intelly – I can't kick my Black Cat addiction) for espresso.

Other interests include jazz, blues, funk, literature, scotch, red wine, social media, Mac computing, fishing and the great outdoors, NHL and Olympic hockey, green politics, grass-roots recreation, soccer/volleyball/running and trying to be a darned good dad/husband.

Equipment: Ascaso Steel Uno PM Professional, Baratza Virtuoso (re-calibrated), Hario & Yama syphons, Chemex, SS Bodum, Aeropress.  And Hearthware's iR2 roaster.

I am a regional manager for a coatings manufacturer in Southern California. All of my stores offer both cold, filtered water and a soothing cup of coffee for our customers. We cater to the repeat, professional trade and we use coffee as a way to break the ice and develop relationships. This has been a tradition of ours since the sixties.

I have two large pressure pots in my office with a grinder, and usually an wide assortment of beans. It's a great way to show my top customers that I care, and they are special. Same for guests in my home…they know they will  be enjoying a great cup of coffee when they come over. It's a passion of mine.

That's why I am so excited about this forum, and the members who share my passion, and won't settle for an average cup of coffee. I think this passion spills over into other aspects of their lives as well. They won't settle for mediocrity, and that makes them very special people. Thank you so much for creating this avenue for us, Jason! I know it will get better and better under your leadership.  Live, love, grind and brew!   Kimba

I didn't own it and it's closed down now, but it was called Prinnie Mack.  We had won the Golden Cup award I wanna say twice?  Even so, it was more of a sandwich cafe than a coffee shop.  I wish it had been the other way around.
