What is your preferred brew method? Drip? Pour over? Espresso? and Why is it your favorite?

French press because I have yet to try aero press. I like that you can taste the coffee's potential.

freshly ground beans pushed through a pressure pot. 4 minutes and you get a nice frothy brew.

French Press all the way, but I am open to getting around to trying all the brew methods that are out there.

Fresh Coffee ✔ French Press ✔ Filtered Water ✔ Making the freshest coffee that you can make = Priceless

Espresso and a Chemex.  Most of the time I have the espresso as well as making an americano from it.

My approach to a new bean is first in the french press.  If it is too bold or 'rough,' I'll try it in the Chemex, which scrubs and brightens.  If a bit mellow in the french press, next would be Inverted Aeropress (a.k.a. "the poor man's Clover"), then a batch in the Hario (vac/siphon).

Espresso blends get prepared in the espresso machine, of course, but I'll also AP (Aeropress), especially for iced drinks.

Wow that is a really cool system. Sounds like you have it down to a science. Just curious if you have a blog?

haha! I love you post on your experience going to the coffee shop back in 2008. I love how honest you were personally, it's refreshing.

Who else uses a Chemex?  What is your experience?  How does it compare in your experience with a french press?  with a regular drip coffee maker?

For me the chemex provides a very clean cup of coffee.  The filters are two/three times that of a standard paper filter to the volume of fines and oils is greatly reduced.  Also the slower brew method provides with a wonderful flavor extraction.

Brewed coffee, French press or boiled coffee. Do not own any appliances yet. I will in time though. I had a nice espresso machine a few years back but it died on me and no chance to get spare parts for it.

I'm enjoying my Keurig… although i'm sure if I tried the French press, I'd enjoy that too :)

Yes Java, I think you would. I must admit, however, that it is not nearly as convenient as the Keurig.

@Java, I guess you may have to choose between quality and convenience.  Sometimes convenience is king, and sometimes quality is king. Having the press will give you the chance to choose.
