If you ever watched The Drew Carey Show then you are probably familiar with buzz blend. A mixture of coffee and beer. But what you may not know is there are a lot of different kinds of "buzz beer" to choose from. I just came across this story that highlights of few of these unique brews. Take a look and let me know what you think. Would you try it? Have you tried it?

Steamworks brewpub in Vancouver produces an espresso stout (seasonal) – absolutely delicious!

The description from their website:

To honour the opening of our new cafe, we brewed a rich, chocolatey
imperial stout. We then pulled 1200 double shots on our new La Marzocco
espresso machine and added them straight into the conditioning tank. If
you like stout and you like coffee, this brew has the best of both
worlds.

Oh yeah!

There is no more natural pairing in the world than beer and the coffee bean. The deep roasted flavors of dark beers like stout, Schwarzbier (black lager), porter, doppelbock and others lend themselves perfectly to the beautiful, black, bitterness of coffee.
The craft beer renaissance has seen an explosion this favorite beer adjunct. There is hardly a brewery that doesn't have at least one coffee beer either in their regular lineup or featured as a favorite seasonal.

two words. Wow – Wow!

These double chocolate stouts and other interesting combinations are great. I need to find a local source for "buzz beer", need to try and hit the specialty retailers.
