it is interesting how different the level of roast can change the flavor of a coffee. I would be interested to what level this Jamaican Blue Mountain was roasted.
qotd? I am a coffee lover who not only loves to drink coffee, but also loves to learn all that he can about coffee, origins, roasting, various means of brewing, and all things coffee. I have a vac pot, two french presses, an aeropress, a Rancilio Silvia, a LaPavoni, and two Bunn pour over drip coffee makers. I roast my own beans and buy a wide variety of them from various on-line green bean sources.

This sounds like a deliciously complex coffee.
I know next to nothing about coffee, but I’m trying to learn. I’m very much a cream and sugar type of gal. How much do you think cream and sugar diminishes the quality or taste of coffee?

QOTD – I’ve been drinking coffee since I was a college freshman, I’ve been a serious coffee drinker. However, it’s only been in the year or so that I really got interested and pick about what was going into my cup. Before my main concern was just the caffeine, now I realized that there’s more to it.

QOTD: I have been drinking coffee sence i was like 15. I am 21 right now so that is 6 years. About 5 times a week or so. Mostly Starbucks or the local coffee shop Ellianos. I started out as a coffee snob only would drink Starbucks but I have evolved in to liking a wide variety of coffee from 5 o’clock to Blue Mountan.
I have tried Blue Mountan but I am still waiting to try Kopi Luwak!

I’ve been drinking coffee since I was 15…so about 15 years. My favorite coffee is a blend called “Boat Guys” from my local coffeeshop, City Dock Coffee in Annapolis, MD. It’s a combo of Mocha Java and French Roast. Mmm!

funny that this would be today’s tasting. blue mountain was the topic of discussion last night at the coffee shop. it seemed that it was pretty much the favorite blend.
i’d probably label myself an adventurous coffee novice. been drinking coffee forever but just in the past couple of years have started stepping out of my regular habit and trying different blends. i’ve been blown away by the vast differences in companies and blends.

Jason, Just found your awesome site…I can’t believe you’ve never had JBM before. It’s ‘cleaness’ is what I like about the most and have been drink it almost exclusively for about three years now.
As for the QOTD, I’ve been drinking coffee for forty years now. I’ve always had an interest in it. At one time I was up to five pots a day but have dropped down to one or two (my doctor would like me to stay below one) pots a day. I find places like Starbucks & 7-11 don’t always make fresh coffee nor do they always keep their pots clean. The best place I’ve found was a little Mom Pop store that put on a fresh pot every half hour…and she cleaned her pots regularly and each type of coffee had it’s own pot.
