Posted on 22. Dec, 2008 by in Coffee Reviews

Overview

That scone was dry… This coffee was bursting with Cherry Notes and is one of my favorite Starbucks Coffee’s of all time.

Coffee

Starbucks Ethiopia Sun Dried Sidamo

Description

Black Cherry, Cocoa, & Spice with a Dry Acidity and a Clean Finish.

I think the best thing about this coffee is the Overwhelming Berry Aroma!

I got a half-pound of STARBUCKS Ethiopia Sun-Dried Sidamo (along with a variety of other coffees and biscottis) for Christmas from a friend who knows how serious I am about such things. I have been using Illy medium-ground Espresso and found it the best I’ve ever tasted. HOWEVER, the Sidamo is every bit as delicious in the cup and won my heart as one of the best coffees available currently. It’s astonishingly tasty. Really!

I agree with your opinion of Sidamo, and your note on the scones, which should be classified as lethal weapons. Why doesn’t Starbucks encourage using local suppliers for their food…the quality would increase ten fold. In this economy restaurants are hurting, but people can still afford a venti drip and a quality dessert, and an outdoor social experience. Trouble is, anything out of a Starbucks food display is invariably old and dry.

@Kimba – Ya I would not disagree with you. In many markets Starbucks receives frozen pastries. Unfortunately I think they are going more for consistency rather than quality and supporting local business. Thanks for the comment.
