All agreed from a chemical point of view.. and far be it from me to discourage ANYONE from imbibing in the good stuff...

...BUT be aware of hydration - studies also sugest while performance/recovery may be positively affected it is important to up your fluid intake in the first 30 minutes of exercise to help counteract the shortfall created by the diuretic aspect of caffeine.

I find I can't consume too close to the beginning of a work out ... seems to 'revisit' too readily!

There's a reason why caffeine is a banned substance under the IOC. Us weekend warriors don't have to worry about that though. Drink away!

I don't work out much. BUT I drink coffee before and during my shift at work, which is mostly pushing and lifting heavy things for a home improvement retailer. I don't experience much pain at all compared to my coworkers, even on the challenging days. I may have found the reason...

I drink coffee just about every time before I go out on my mountain bike. I thought it was just my imagination, but it seems to make a difference during and after.
