  • gotta be honest….saw the rating–didn’t bother to watch the tasting.

  • Jason, I think we need to take up a collection and get you some hazard pay. I was disappointed a coffee could score that low, but having had hotel coffee I was not surprised.

qotd? No, I generally do not drink hotel coffee. Despite what would appear to many to be an addiction, I drink coffee because I enjoy coffee, if you can’t enjoy it, what is the point?

  • QOTD – That definitely sounds like one of those coffees that I would bury with extra sugar and cream, but it seems like the hotels never have enough of that. When I’m traveling, I’ll start with the hotel room coffee, then the first thing I’ll do after that is search for some real coffee.

  • Hotel coffee always sucks! There is never enough cream and sugar to make it taste better. Only use in extreme caffeine-fix emergencies. I hope the coffee served at breakfast is better!

  • I am not sure why they even bother with room coffee, it is worse than convenience store coffee! Not to mention the brewer they are using! Nice review!

  • Luv’d your taste test at the hotel. Doesn’t the Embassy Suites have free brewed coffee in their free breakfast area? You may want to go with it next time. It is a LOT better then the one that comes in the room!!!! I hope the rest of your vacation is awesome.

  • Yes, I’ve got to agree with everyone. You probably should have asked first so that we could have saved your coffee…er, taste…buds…which leads into the QOTD:
In room coffee is generally stale by the time one gets it. It’s just the nature of the business; you buy it in bulk and store it until it’s gone. If no one uses it this week, it’s still there next week. And this is why I don’t drink in room coffees….unless I’m at that point where I NEED (and I mean desperately NEED it) it but then I go out and get some ‘real’ coffee as soon as possible.

I am going to do a video very soon as a response to all of your comments. I hear you loud and clear! THANK YOU for your feedback.

  • Have you tried any of the Keurig has a B130 hospitality brewer. Have you reviewed any hotels using that? The brewer uses K-Cups and the only thing that will ruin it for you is the water that you use for brewing. We now bring ours everywhere when we travel.

  • I have tried hotel coffee in about 6 different hotel chains and have to say they are all a 1 or lower. I don’t even bother any more, I find a local cafe or one of the chains I like instead of wasting the water.

  • Depends on the hotel… The Ace Hotel in NYC has Stumptown Coffee on-site, and it’s DELICIOUS!

  • Sorry you had to experience that, Jason.
