Did you know? – Caffeine Content Mild vs Dark Roast

What kind of coffee would you say has the most caffeine? The darkest, strongest tasting ones right? Not actually true.
Did you know?
Mild coffees actually contain more caffeine than dark roasts coffees. This is because they are “cooked” a shorter amount of time thus leaving more off the caffeine “intact”.

I actually knew this thanks to a coworker. I went from dark-roasted coffees to lighter breakfast blends and I do notice the difference.

Did not know that, but it makes sense from a chemical standpoint. I’ll keep that in mind in case I need a real caffeine fix before an exam.

This is one of the reasons I like dark roasts the best, they make me less jittery.

I did know this, though I prefer dark roasts. I know that, from Starbucks, the most highly caffeinated drink you can order (unless you add shots to something else) is just a drip coffee. Espresso has more per ounce, but an espresso drink has the same amount of caffeine as, or a little less than, drip coffee.
