Coffee Review: Social Coffee & Tea – Ethiopia Sidama

Social Coffee and Tea Company
Jason reviews coffee from Social Coffee and Tea Company. Each coffee on Social Coffee’s website has a detailed description breaking down everything about each one. The coffee from this review Ethiopia Sidama has such a bright yet silky smooth flavor and I would be very interested to see how it performs as espresso. If you have an espresso machine I would love to hear how you like this coffee brewed that way and as drip coffee for that matter.
Ethiopia Sidama Natural
Citrus acidity, raspberries with clean mocha chocolate finish.

Question of the Day?
Have you ever had lemon curd? What is the strangest thing you have ever put on your pancakes?

QOTD: Lemon curd, yes. Strangest thing on pancakes, we mixed in crasins to the batter before.

I love mixing! We sometimes do walnuts and blueberries.

I finally got to try this coffee today. It was everything you said, although I’m not sure what Lemon curd tastes like, but this coffee reminded be of a mellow Yirgacheffe. It is more acidic than I’m used to but in a good way. The chocolate just wanted to hang around on my throat as long as it could.
This would be an interesting coffee as an espresso, but wouldn’t be my pallet preference. Just french pressed.

Wow, two great coffees in a row. These are the days I want your job. This sounds like an awesome coffee. Ethiopian Sidama is my favorite coffee to begin with and it sounds like they have done an incredible job with their roast.
qotd? I have never even heard of Lemon Curd, much less tasted it. I “Googled” it though, and it sounds like something I am going to have to try. Probably the strangest thing I have had on/in pancakes is chocolate chips. I had it at camp once as a mistake (they thought it was blueberries I guess), but I think some people do it intentionally.

haha, they wanted to surprise you with chocolate?
Lemon curd goes good on all sorts of stuff like GIANT pancakes.
