First of all your comment made me smile! I love the last line! Nobody that I know LOVES technology and where it is headed more than me. So this was a little comedic for me to read. Second, this App is NOT the future it's sort of the past. Check out this App from Chipotle ( http://www.chipotle.com/#/flash/order_iPhone-app ) you can order directly from your iPhone and pay while sitting on the couch at home. This is light years ahead of paying at the store and it's ready when you get there. (skip the line...)

Thanks again for your comment! ;-)

Good grief what a load of whining. The mobile card app is in test phase in a couple of cities. I have used it, and it is quicker than paying with cash, credit card, or the magnetic stripe starbucks cards. It is also nice to get an instant balance update and a history of transactions, as well as to be able to reload the card from my phone whenever I want. Plus, this is a revolutionary application in the US. Nobody else is putting a payment option on a phone like this, and it is the future.

@Jose - I totally hear you on the applications being free. I definitely am glad that they are free apps. I don't know why anyone would buy them in the first place. It would seems weird to charge for the service of pumping the company and showing you where stores were located in order to get you in the store to spend money. That being said, I do anticipate the apps getting better, like you said. I just think with the industry having this technology already available that Starbucks is a little behind the curve on this.

Thank you so much for your comments, look forward to talking with you more in the future. - Jason

@WOnet - First let me say, Thank You! I loved hearing your thoughts and I lol when you said, "I'm sorry, do you have an iPhone?" I totally hear you on the iPhone Apps and how they release little bits that make it better here and there. Though from my perspective you can already do some of the functions without the App. Like looking for a store, I can just type Starbucks in the GPS and boom I got my list. That being said I can understand how some people, especially Starbucks Fans, would get more value from the current Application. (Well, minus the Mobile Card App which I think is totally pointless....) I did my review more based on what is being offered according to the current "market standard" that has been set by other companies in and out of the field.

Again, I value your thoughts more than you know and love/enjoyed the lengthy comment. Thanks!
