Choices – Every Decision Matters
Posted on 07. Mar, 2009 by Jason Coffee in Blogging
Remember 3 Things
1) Get a Vision
2) Set some Goals toward that Vision
3) Make decisions, BIG or small, that lead you towards that vision and help you accomplish your goals.
No Static Decisions
Remember there is no such thing as a static choice. Your choice is either taking you towards what you want or away from it.
I had the idea for this video while walking to the store, so i shot it right on the spot (sorry about the bounciness.).

Good stuff Jason.
I learned a few years ago that goal setting was anti-productive for me; I’d set a goal, achieve it, and then feel remorse and confusion. Odd, I know. I thought that perhaps I wasn’t setting my goals high enough, so I made some adjustments, but in truth a goal set too high isn’t a goal at all, it’s a dream. Not that there’s anything wrong with dreaming.
But we still need to set goals, right? I discovered the SPAM approach to goal-setting. Goals should be Specific, Practical, Achievable, and Measurable. Still, even the most reasonable goals are still just that, goals, and I soon found myself back to where I was in the first place, bluesville. It wasn’t until I renamed goals in my psyche as “benchmarks” that I felt relieved and began to enjoy my personal and professional development again.
Silly semantics, I know, but the mind is a funny thing.
Regards,
Matt
