I’ve always wondered if those little cups are just as good as regular coffee. Do you think one is better than the other?
QOTD: I don’t own a K-cup brewer and don’t really plan to. Also, why “K”? Why not “L” or “M”?

i don’t own a k-cup brewer. i think it would be great in an office setting where people could bring in their favorite coffees, but i don’t know about at home.

I dont own a K-cup Brewer. I have thought about getting one for my office but not for every day use. I still love my french press!

Jason, great idea reviewing alternative coffee brewing methods. I don’t have a K-cup and I do not really want one. I am “old-school,” and for me much of the joy of coffee is in the brewing and preparation, but for those who want convenience, this is it. We have a Flavia at work and they are convenient.

I can’t believe how quick that the coffee. We had a k-cup machine in an office I worked at a while ago and it was a lot slower and the results were a lot less than desired. Looks like things have changed for the better.
As far as the QOTD – I’ve been thinking about getting one, it would give me more options of coffees to review, but more importantly it would make that first cup of coffee in the morning even easier.
I think i’ve seen this somewhere before…but it’s not bad at all
Great review. Would love to see more reviews for Keurig products in the future. I personally think the Coffee People have the best blends. Keep up the great reviews!
Hi Jason, With regards to the QOTD, it’s on my list of things to buy. They coffee shop I used to go to had one (for those who were in a rush…LOL…) (Crystal would make a couple of pots for those ‘cash and dash’ types but most coffee was on a per customer basis. You come in, tell her what you wanted and waited for a FRESH cup including the grinding.) Anyway, to make a long story longer; as I was her first customer of the day, we’d compare the french press and the Keurig and to be honest there really wasn’t that much of a difference other than the time it took to make it. The key here was that her Keurig coffee (and she did have a goodly selection) was always fresh unlike hotel in-room coffee or that found onboard airliners. And for Melissa, it’s called K-cup because K-cup is much shorter to write out than Keurig-cup…and that’s all they sell.
@David Eaton wow a coffee shop with a K-cup very interesting never heard that one before. Thanks for sharing.
Hey J,
Not in to the K cup or Senseo type brewers. All of the pod families that I have tried seem to lack any complexity, and quite honestly tend to leave my tongue begging for some flavor to go along with that classy brewing technology. On the flip side however, I recommended one to my boss who often host coffee needy guest in his upscale office. In my opinion, these type brewers are good for a quick cup of coffee, and to the undiscerning pallet, quite enjoyable. As for me, I think I’ll stick with my french press and burr grinder.
