Um, this coffee sounds gross. Why would you ever want to drink ashtray? Sounds like a cream and sugar fixer upper to me!

And with that, I think I answered the question of the day.

  2. Ashy intense bitterness? Sounds like that coffee would do great in italy! I know they enjoy espress that puts a bit of hair on their chest. I really don’t think i’d like that. I prefer a more medium roast.

This coffee doesn’t sound too hot. Ashy coffee is never good in my book, as the only time I’ve tasted ashy coffee, it was at a convenient store. Ever since then, an ashy coffee equals a cheap coffee in my book. I don’t mind a little bitter bite, but ash is something high quality coffee roasters should manage to keep out of their blends. Its not tasty at all. Give me a full bodied coffee from Costa Rica or a Kona coffee anyday!

  4. It really depends on what the rest of the coffee tastes like for me. I have had some really good dark dark roasted ones that did taste ashy, but the majority were just over roasted tasting to me.

Wow, I have to say I am very surprised! Capone has a big & strong following in our area (and people even travel/order from farther away)! It is not my personal favorite, but even I have never considered it over-roasted.
Hmmm…I think I am going to have to send you a second sampling. =)
QOTD: I am okay with a little ashiness as long as it’s not burnt & over-roasted!

That would be awesome and I think it is GREAT that you are responding so positively to the review. I have to be super honest about what my palette is saying and I would love to try another batch and give you some feedback. Like I said everyone palette is different. You Rock. – Jason

Honest is all we can ask for, right? Yep-everyone’s palettes are different! In NH, some people like the fresh-roasted small batches we put out, but many are “addicted” to the ‘Bucks (over-roasted & over-priced in my opinion) and most prefer the Dunks.
You rock too, Jason-and your wife seems pretty cool too. =)
