Sounds like a good coffee. Yirgacheffe is one of my favorite coffees. Most of the coffees I’ve had from there have been amazing.
I’m aiming to get my review of that coffee maker done tomorrow. It’s ten times better than the coffee maker I was using before I got this one as a Christmas gift, but I think the Zojirushi one that I’m giving away beats them all. The Cuisinart is good, but there’s a few drawbacks and at that price point, I’d want something that’s just about perfect.
I’m excited to see your review of that coffee brewer because that’s the one my family has had for a few years. Ours may be a little different because it’s older, but it looks almost the same. We haven’t really had any problems with it, for an auto-drip brewer it gets the job done, but it can’t really compare to our french press when it comes to the coffee itself.
There’s nothing like “down time” just hanging out with the family — especially when it involves coffee. I too like the Yirgacheffe, but not quite as much as some of the other Ethiopian coffees (like a good Sidamo).
qotd? I’m originally from Wisconsin and my roots run deep even though I now live in Indiana. The rest of my immediate family lives within 10-15 miles of where we grew up. I guess I”m the “black sheep” of the family having left home. I do get back there every year to visit, but home is where my wife and kids are now.
Wow!! It’s not often, I get to see a review on a birthday present I gave…. I hope you still like it… I can’t wait to see what you REALLY think… =) Keep up the good work.. Jason. I really enjoy watching your tastings.
@Mom – Regardless of what I “think” about the brewer itself. I SUPER appreciate the gift! Also, it has made my coffee every morning for 6 months so it is a great gift Mom, thanks!
There will however be a pretty brutal review of it. lol
Nice review…
I personally haven’t had any ‘hang ups’ with a similar Cuisinart, but… Enjoyed the vid none-the-less!
QOTD – I’m originally from a tiny Island in the southern hemisphere called ‘Australia’… But nowadays don’t really hang my hat anywhere. My wife and I met in New Zealand -GREAT COFFEE (have to check out Fidels Café on Cuba St in Wellington) – but after living there for a few years, decided to take our writing on the road. So we now move between NZ, Europe, US and other locations.
